OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—FEBRUARY 16, 2012—Full brothers Pyc Paint Your Wagon and Ivory James sired the two fastest two-year-olds clocked during schooling races on Thursday evening at Remington Park. Pyc Paint Your Wagon was the leading first crop sire in 2010 and leading second crop sire of 2011, while Ivory James was the leading first crop sire of money earners last season.

The pair of Corona Cartel sons are out of the multiple stakes producing Strawfly Special mare Dashin Follies, who sold at the 2010 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale for a record $875,000.
On the night, Ivory James sired three two-year-old race winners who ended the night with the 2nd, 5th and 18th times.

In the second race Thursday, Special Candy Paint, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, avoided any trouble on the outside as she took the lead at the start to win by half-length under a hand ride from jockey Bennett. Also trained by Crawford, the homebred filly owned by Carl Pevehouse of Ardmore, Oklahoma, is out of the Strawfly Special mare This Candys Special. She ran the 250 yards in :13.59.

In the sixth race Midnight Sunlight rallied in the final yards to win by three-quarters of a length. Brenda Reiswig of Bismarck, North Dakota purchased the Ivory James filly for the $18,000 in the September Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Vic Hanson trains the brown filly whom jockey Stormy Smith rode to the second fastest time of :13.60. Bobby Cox bred the filly in Texas from the stakes winning Royal Quick Dash mare Quick Moon Sign.
